Derby day returns to Wincham Park on Tuesday evening as Witton welcome tenants Northwich Victoria in their third Pre Season Friendly. Derby games are always special occasions and there have been plenty of them over the years particularly in cup competitions in recent times. The Vics face theiir fourth outing so far, having won two out of their previous three friendlies against Hallmark Security League rivals Ashton Athletic and most recently against Preston - based Garstang. Their only reverse being against Evo-Stik Premier Division Lancaster City. A number of new faces have arrived at Northwich for the coming season including one face who will be familiar to Witton supporters, Joel Brownhill who had a short spell at Wincham Park a few seasons ago. The former Witton forward has started Pre Season in good form scoring four times in the Vics first two friendlies and will certainly need watching during the game. Witton's Pre Season programme got off to a tough start against a strong Southport team ending in a defeat before the team took on Vauxhall Motors at the weekend. A two-goal interval lead for the Albion was quickly overturned early in the second half as the two sides shared four goals. Numerous changes disrupted matters but Pre Season is all about fitness and results are secondary. Tonight's game promises to be another competitive encounter and a win against your neighbours is always nice. Kick off at Wincham Park is 7.45pm.

It would be good to see what might be our team out at some point vs Vics not 10 trialists interspersed in the match it is so disruptive and I personally dont see what we get out of it they are usually well of the mark for our level so Id like to see a team looking like :
Gards, Wardle, Wilson. Devine
Foley, Owens, Smart, Mckenna
At the moment that is something like our best 11 and we really need a few signings to be honest there are not enough goals in that 11 and the keeper and centre back pairings are unproven yet ! we need to see that set up play together so it can bed in ! UTA
