Does this mean that Rob Hopley has not recovered from that terrible injury?, and as such, has retired?

OR does this mean the manager is strengthening his squad?? It was obvious we needed ANOTHER goalscorer. Negative by Thatched Tavern even before a ball is kicked!!

I don't think Jeff is being negative, he is just asking the question!

I wasn't being negative......I was just concerned about ROB. I spoke with him earlier this year, and he was telling me about his concern that he may not ever recover enough from his severe injury, in order to play at our level again. He said he would find out this summer when hopefully he would be able to start training again.

Be very interesting to see who we retain from last season's squad with two signings made already! In Hooper, Bakkor, Sambor and Hopley if he gets fit again we have a pretty good set of strikers. If we can keep Renshaw in goal that would be brilliant and Neild as a back up. Midfield, Gregory, McKenna, Smart, Foley, Owens and Booth if fit again are good enough but, we probably do lack a bit of width/pace there IMO. In defence Wardle and Baldwin are great, Short is a bit inconsistent and not really seen enough of Duffus to tell if he is good enough to replace Anson? I think the remaining players not mentioned could all be improved on and if better can be found we should. Priority for me a centre back, left back and a pacy goal-scoring winger are the positions we should look for to complement the team. Lets hope we can keep all the players we hope to. UTA

In total agreement, we should have a good future WHEN it starts! Keep up the good work, Carl & Gary! P.S. what happened to Reg McGuire, he didn't last long!

James Hooper, striker who we signed on dual terms with Alty played the last few games, looked decent.
