A great win for the lads at a tough venue, hope Regan isn't injured? We could do with him for a bit longer. UTA

Post-match views of Gainsborough Trinity manager Curtis Woodhouse.

Trinity got off to a flier when Rod Orlando-Young put them ahead after just four minutes following good play by Tyler Hamilton out wide.

But they were pegged back three minutes later when Isaac Baldwin levelled.

The visitors hit the front through Tom Owens on 54 minutes, before James Hooper sealed the points with a minute to go.

“I’m not angry, I don't feel like we are miles off. I feel we played ok and didn't deserve to lose,” said Woodhouse.

“We gave them three goals and that’s the frustrating point, but I’ve seen plenty of positives."

“You can't be in the clouds when you win an devastated when you lease, life and football is not like that."

“If we play like we did today and cut out the mistakes then we will be competitive and that is the aim in every game this season."

“We are where we are and the lads are giving it their all, every player gave it 100 percent and that's all you can ask for as a manager. That is why I am proud of their effort.”

And Woodhouse believes his side can learn plenty from the game, with tightening up at the back one of the key areas.

The Trinity boss also backed his side to keep improving as they grow together through the season.

“It was a frustrating afternoon, I thought a lot of our play was really good,” he added.

“The goals we gave away were shocking. They had three shots and three have gone in."

“We have to do better in those aspects, but we kept going and never gave in so I’m proud of that effort."

“We came out and penned them in in the second half but lost the half 2-0."

“We didn't get enough shots in on goal. We don't have a natural centre forward at the club and it is what it is."

“I don't think we are miles off, it was a pretty even game."

“We had the majority of possessions, but we had to work very hard for our chances where we gave them three goals."

“It is a good learning curve for us and something we have to learn quickly."

“We will get stronger as we get a better understanding of each other and grow.”

Great result and a very good performance. I'm not sure which game their manager was watching but to say we only had 3 shots is laughable, Isaac Baldwin had that many on his own in the first 20 mins. Chris Renshaw's concentration is fantastic as he had one significant save to make in about the 80th minute and was up to the job.
If we keep performing like we have in the last 3 games hopefully fans will come through the gates and help to move the club onwards.

I can't even begin to say how proud I feel to be a supporter of Witton Albion right now.

We were winning 2-1 when my Ryanair flight left for Spain, and I couldn't wait to land so that I could nervously check the final score. Quite what the lady in front of me thought when I tried to stifle a "Get in!!!" on landing is anyone's guess.

As Distant says, if we keep playing like this there's no reason why we shouldn't be filling our Covid-maximum 600 capacity at every home game.

Great stuff lads - keep it up!:clap
