Witton begin their Cheshire Senior Cup campaign on Tuesday night when they travel to Chester FC in the Preliminary Round. Following their relegation from the Vanarama National League at the end of last season, they have made an excellent start to their league campaign and currently sit eighth in the Vanarama League North table having lost only twice from their eleven games so far. The club has seen a number of changes since the end of last season with the appointment of the former Salford City management team of Bernard Morley & Anthony Johnson as well as a number of new additions to the squad. The game is the second of four successive cup fixtures for Witton and the competition although taken seriously, will possibly give squad players some game-time. Witton reached the First Round of the competition last season before losing to Hyde United and although they have commitments ahead of the game, they will still be looking to progress against a Chester team in form. Should the game be drawn after normal time the tie will be decided on penalties. Kick off at Swansway Chester Stadium is 7.45pm.
