WHEELS created the topic: Football Ground Ratings.
In a worldwide survey conducted by talking to visiting supporters, The NetDec Stadium was rated 7th best ground in the Evo-Stik Division One South for the 2016/17 Season.

The top three were: 1. Stamford AFC- Zeeco Arena, 2. Basford United - Greenwich Avenue, 3. AFC Rushden and Diamonds - The Dog and Duck Ground.

Champions Shaw Lane AFC were placed 4th.

I am surprised about the ratings, and would like to know what the criteria (if any) was part of the voting (i.e. is the ground owned or hired by the club, and is the pitch accessible on all 4 sides by the supporters? etc.

Yes, I was wondering about that TT. Especially as Victoria Stadium was also included in the survey and we know how long it has been since that was in use. Unfortunately, it doesn't specify how these ratings were acquired.

WHS.

I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.

Rushden, Spalding (in the play offs) and V*cs aside, did we actually have any other visiting supporters in league games last season? I don't recall any (other than the odd 1 or two here and there) so am intrigued as to how the info for this survey was gathered!! Sounds like a bloke with two of his mates down the pub type survey!

Shaw Lane in 4th place says it all!

Rugby and Gresley were my favourite away days last season, neither ground appears in the top four either. Am surprised the "worldwide survey" didn't ask for Wittoners opinions given that we took more fans than any other club to each ground in the league (Rushden probably took more to some though to be fair).

What an absolute insult by whoever came up with these ground gradings. I can't comment on Stamford and Basfords grounds because I didn't go to them but I can say with certainty that our ground is better that the Dog and Duck, and Shaw Lane. I think I'll ignore the "world wide survey" and put it down to someone having a Giraffe!!
