While I think DR was a good keeper I don't think he was that good. Saw better keepers playing for the opposition sometimes.

think we should've broke the budget a little and kept him, good keepers are hard to come by and he's worth atleast 15 pts a season.

Well I for one am very gutted. No better keeper at this level in my eyes. Really don't understand it at all. Good luck Danny. You will be so missed xx

Danny wasn't contracted so was not payed when ' he spent half the season in the stands' as you put it. Which I don't think for on minute he did! He played a lot of games for us and was an integral part of the promotion winning team. He got injured at Basford where he was superb and was dropped by Carl when he was fit in favour for Hare.

Madness to have such a good keeper as 2nd choice. As someone said quality keepers are like gold dust. I'm sure he is as gutted as some of us are, by the way WHS who are these better keepers you've seen this season? Is your eyesight playing up again after the fog incident?

I'm not disputing his ability. He's the best I've seen at Witton for at least fifteen years. Whether he was paid when he didn't play is irrelevant. The fact is most keepers will miss one or two games a season. Danny missed alot more than that not only last season but also the season before for us and Glossop. Just saying that the manager will have take this into account. Whether this is the right decision I don't know as we don't know what the manager knows. Look at how many keepers we had to play throughout the season. Must have been a problem for the management team.

Several keepers played superbly against us, particularly at home. In some cases, it was only the opposition keeper that kept us from scoring a bucketful of goals. Stocksbridge keeper was a good one as were the Lincoln and Shaw Lane men and Spalding too.
DR was a good keeper but Hare did okay when he played. Trust the Manager, he got it right last term despite having to find an almost new team just before the season started, I think he will do even better this time with more time to pick and choose.

Sorry to see Danny go, a quality keeper. But we have to put our trust in Carl, as our manager, who put a team together to get us promotion. so we must unite and get behind the management and players. Good luck Danny.

Yes they did but Danny has what the don't have and that's consistency, after all anyone can have a good day at the office.

Disagree about Shaw Lane keeper thought he was average at best from what I saw at the away match

I am always sad to see good players leave but the fact is it happens all the time, the only thing that is always there is the club and you wonderful supporters!!

Really upset about Danny going. I don't disagree very often with our great management team but I just hope they have a good keeper replacement in mind as I wasn't impressed with Calvin. Great news on other fronts about Gards , Devine, Hopley and hopefully the rest of the squad. Think we need a couple of good midfield players but I'm sure Carl is working flat out. He never announces anything until its a cert they've signed which is the right way to go about business.

Rumours of a quality central defender and left winger being in the pipeline.
