Get a grip CJ.

1874 are playing a team from the league above even us in the oldest and most-prestigous cup competition in the world, and you want to deny them column inches because we are in the Evo-Stik Premier, going second after a game that he wasn't actually at, so can't write a report based on first hand experience.

A local paper has to cater for all local issues and sporting events, and unfortunately, Andy can't dedicate all of his time to Witton, as much as you want him to.

If you are that upset over it, speak to Andy when is next covering one of our games

Read any local newspaper in any town or city in the UK and you will find that the vast majority give the better coverage to that town/city's biggest and highest ranked football club. That is simply fact.

The Northwich Guardians allegiances have always been with NVFC
for as long as I can remember. What I can't understand is why are they giving so much coverage to a Winsford team? 1874 only have a connection with Northwich in name only. Have they ever played a home game in Northwich?????

I could put up with it when NVFC were the towns biggest club, and had to suffer it for many years, fair enough. But we are now and have been for some years. It is beyond farcical. I wouldn't mind at all 1874 getting better coverage when in a big FA cup game but they seem to get the back page every week hence why I have also stopped buying the paper.

I too will not be buying the 1874 Guardian rag. Absolutely fed up of seeing that Winsford outfit from the dog and duck league getting more coverage than Northwich's premier team. What our team are doing to date at this level of football is remarkable and doesn't get the recognition it so rightly deserves. UTA

Is the Guardian now the Mid Cheshire Guardian or has it gone back to being the Northwich Guardian? As I said I don't buy it anymore so I don't know but if it is still the Mid Cheshire Guardian it might make more sense as to why a Winsford club gets the best sports coverage every week. Either way I will never pay a nugget for it again, its free online anyway (if you really want to read it!!!). UTA

Like NVFC it may well be nearing the end.

I have been retired for 8 years now and I can confirm two things; You cannot work out how you found time to go to work and it is wonderful to be TOTALLY in charge of your life, with the wife's permission of course. Read me in the Our Town magazine.
